Oculus fully spreads the "refund" sale, this time you can buy it safely

Oculus is making significant efforts to enhance the overall experience of its Rift and Gear VR platforms. While the company rolled out several consumer-friendly promotions during the summer, it seems that the most impactful change is yet to come: a major expansion of its refund policy. After successfully testing the feature in the UK, Oculus is now preparing to roll it out globally.

According to a recent blog post, the new automatic refund system will offer users more flexibility. For Rift users, if you launch a game or app within two hours of purchase, you’ll have 14 days to request a full refund. This model closely mirrors Steam’s approach, which many PC gamers are already familiar with. If you've ever bought a game on Steam and found yourself dissatisfied, this policy might sound quite appealing.

On the Gear VR side, the rules are a bit stricter. You'll only have three days from the time of purchase to request a refund, and your total playtime must be under 30 minutes. It's also important to note that not every app or game on either platform supports the refund option—though Oculus claims the majority do.

Some content, such as movies, bundled packages, and apps purchased as part of a bundle, won’t be eligible for refunds. This rule also applies to any content downloaded or purchased through third-party apps. However, as long as you meet the criteria, the process is straightforward. To start a refund, simply visit the Purchase History section on the Oculus Store.

In addition to the improved refund policy, Oculus has been rolling out a variety of new features and updates throughout the summer. These include the Public Testing Channel, Oculus Parties, and other enhancements aimed at improving user engagement and performance. The company has also hinted that more quality improvements and optimizations are on the way in the coming months, showing a clear commitment to its growing ecosystem.

Sensors

Sensors are complex devices that are often used to detect and respond to electrical or optical signals. Sensors convert physical parameters (such as temperature, blood pressure, humidity, speed, etc.) into signals that can be measured electrically. Proximity sensors detect the presence of objects with almost no point of contact. Due to the lack of contact between the sensor and the object under test and the lack of mechanical parts, these sensors have long service life and high reliability. The proximity sensor emits an electromagnetic or electrostatic field or electromagnetic radiation beam (such as infrared) and waits for a return signal or change in the field. The object to be sensed is called the target of the proximity sensor.
