For nearly 15 years, ABB's IRB 360 FlexPicker pick and pack technology has been at the forefront. Compared with traditional rigid automation technology, IRB 360 has the advantages of high flexibility, small footprint, high precision and large load.
With the introduction of the IRB 360-6 (the last robot in the IRB 360 series), ABB introduced the FlexPicker with a 1600mm lateral range and a 6kg medium load. Compared to the 8kg FlexPicker, the reduction in load allows for a longer range of lateral motion and can be used in other environmental factors where the conveyor must be separated or a longer distance between pick and place.
The ABB robot IRB 360 series now includes loads of 1kg, 3kg, 6kg and 8kg and lateral movements of 800mm, 1130mm and 1600mm, which means the IRB 360 can meet almost any need. The IRB 360 has the advantages of excellent motion performance, short tact time and high precision. It can run at high speed in a narrow or wide space with minimal error. Each FlexPicker's flange tool has been redesigned to accommodate larger fixtures for high-speed and efficient processing of streamlined packaging on synchronous belts.
