Saudi increases commercial power usage fees

The Saudi Electricity and Thermal Power Administration (ECRA) has approved an increase in electricity usage fees that will be implemented before the end of this fiscal year.

The old electricity tariff is calculated on the basis of the current unit ampere. From the current of 30 ampere per ampere of 23 riyals, the greater the power consumption, the higher the unit price. The newly introduced levy is calculated on the basis of voltage. The price for the 30 kilowatts is 1800 rial, the 60 kilowatts for the 5,700 rial, the 90 kilowatts for the 13,500 rial, and the 120 kilowatts for the 19,800 rial, 152 KV is 26,600 riyals, and the higher the unit load, the higher the unit price.

People are worried that raising commercial electricity prices may cause rising rents, which will affect the lives of ordinary residents.
