Israeli Ikea stops selling incandescent bulbs

Just like a rotary dial telephone, incandescent light bulbs are soon to be replaced.

Israel’s IKEA has stopped the sale of incandescent bulbs and will begin implementation on September 1. This is the first retailer in the Jewish state to stop selling incandescent bulbs.

At the same time, IKEA began to tend to sell energy-saving lighting equipment.

According to the news of the website, the compact (energy saving lamp) fluorescent light bulb saves 75% of energy and 10 times longer life than a typical incandescent light bulb. Because this type of bulb generates illumination by igniting the gas in the tube rather than the luminescent fibers in the glass, the operating temperature of the bulb is also lower.

Halogen bulbs can save 30% of energy consumption while generating more lumens per watt than incandescent bulbs.

Solar lights can also achieve energy-saving lighting, usually consisting of portable LED lights, photovoltaic solar panels and rechargeable batteries. Solar lights can be charged during the day and open at night, usually automatically, although some have been designed with manual switches. This kind of lamp can achieve overnight lighting, based on the solar energy received during the day. The discharge time of such lamps is usually 8 to 10 hours. Most solar lights are used for lawn and garden decoration, and outdoor lights embedded in pedestrians. Indoor solar lights are usually used to achieve general lighting, mainly used in garages and some industrial environments.
