The FAN4810 operates in a leading-edge average current mode, with continuous conduction mode (CCM) for high voltage output. This IC incorporates triple safety detection technology, which helps protect the circuit from failures caused by component damage. It also features a gate output drive capacity of up to 1A, eliminating the need for an external power MOSFET driver. This design reduces overall system complexity and improves efficiency.
Additionally, the FAN4810 includes a peak current limit function that uses internal AC input under-voltage protection and output over-voltage protection circuits. These features allow the PFC circuit to be shut down automatically through an internal over-voltage comparator when there's a sudden change in the output load. The device also provides an output clock signal that can be used to synchronize the lower-level PWM circuit, helping to minimize noise during operation.
