Microsoft: I hope to introduce Kinect to China within a year or two

Microsoft: I hope to introduce Kinect to China within a year or two The 9th ChinaJoy (China International Digital Interactive Entertainment Exhibition) kicked off today in Shanghai. Zhang Yaqin, senior vice president of Microsoft Global, said during the ChinaJoy Industry Summit that Xbox has more than 30 million online users and hopes to introduce Kinect products and technologies to China within a year or two.

From a global perspective, console games are still the mainstream platform for the gaming industry. The most representative ones include the Nintendo Wii, the Sony PlayStation, and the Microsoft Xbox. Zhang Yaqin revealed that the current Xbox console has sold more than 50 million units, of which more than 30 million are online users, and Jinect technology has been introduced last year.

The above trends also indicate that console games are going online, socializing and diversifying. Currently, 40% of users on the Xbox platform are playing non-game entertainment, including video, voice, and e-commerce.

In Microsoft's plan, Kinect technology will also be integrated into the Windows system as part of the latter's natural interface. At the same time, Kinect can also provide API interfaces. Developers can develop games and applications based on this platform.

Although a large part of Kinect technology was developed in China, 100% of Xbox consoles are manufactured in China, but this game console platform has not yet been introduced into China. To this end, Zhang Yaqin also appealed in his speech today that he hopes to cooperate with Chinese companies in the next year or two, bring Kinect's hardware and software to China, and also hope to receive government support.
