Socionext and SOINN jointly test SoC sensing technology and artificial intelligence for IoT and similar applications

Socionext Inc. and SOINN Inc. announced that the two companies have begun joint testing and joint development of new solutions for integrating SoC data sensing technology and artificial intelligence. The first step in this trial is to have the “Artificial Brain SOINN” learn how to collect data and validate the results from the Socionext integrated medical IoT solution “Viewphii” in order to more effectively monitor health and predict future risks.

At present, more and more AI artificial intelligence solutions and services are developed for the integration and use of IoT applications with huge sensing data.

Based on SoC expertise, Socionext uses its data sensing technology to extract useful information from sensor signals and develop new products and solutions to enhance user experience. The artificial brain SOINN is a self-learning universal artificial intelligence provided by SOINN Inc. This unique learning algorithm does not require a large amount of data, powerful hardware or lengthy learning cycles. And SOINN Inc. is also actively promoting the new business of using artificial brain SOINN.

The two companies will experiment with integrating SoC sensing technology and self-learning algorithms to develop solutions for new businesses. Socionext is responsible for extracting valuable data through its SoC sensing technology to develop IoT applications and builds; SOINN is responsible for fine-tuning its self-learning algorithms. The trial will first collect a variety of biometric data and general health check results from the Socionext integrated medical IoT solution "viewphii", allowing the artificial brain SOINN to learn and assess current health and future risks.

In addition to data measured through wireless handheld mobile devices, "viewphii" provides integrated management solutions for ultrasound imaging, continuous blood pressure measurement and electrocardiography, and is currently developing measurement techniques for other biometric data. The learning of artificial brain SOINN will create an opportunity for health monitoring and future risk prediction with high accuracy and low cost in a short period of time. It is expected that the learning results analysis and effective verification of the trial will be completed by the end of October 2016.

Based on the results of this test, SOINN will greatly enhance its self-learning algorithms and accuracy to facilitate future technological evolution and development. Socionext will continue to open new businesses and promote new products and applications using SoC sensing technology.
