The world's first UHV transmission line was built in Nanyang

The first UHV transmission line in the world, the first-phase project of the 1000-kilovolt Jindongnan-Nanyang-Jingmen UHV pilot demonstration project was completed and operated well in Nanyang.

The 1000 kV UHV transmission line independently researched and developed by the State Grid Corporation of China is currently the UHV power transmission and transformation project with the highest operating voltage, the highest transmission capacity, and the most advanced technology in the world. The project is the world’s first UHV transmission and transformation project to date, starting from Jindongnan in the north, to Nanmen, Henan, and Jingmen, Hubei, with a total length of 640 kilometers. The first phase of the project has been completed. The relevant personnel of the provincial power company said that this UHV transmission line can bring 5 million kilowatts of electricity to Henan from other provinces, which is equivalent to five-sixths of electricity consumption in Zhengzhou.
