Development and Reform Commission plans to incorporate LED lighting into the subsidy range next year

China has now become the world’s largest LED outdoor lighting market. China’s National Semiconductor Lighting Research and Development and Industry Alliance Deputy Secretary Jun Jun pointed out yesterday that Chinese officials will continue to promote LED lighting, including subsidies for local governments to install LED street lights, and the National Development and Reform Commission It is planned to incorporate LED lighting into the subsidy range next year.

Research institutions are optimistic that next year China's LED streetlights will rise from 2.5 million to 2.8 million baht, eating more than half of the world's market size. LEDinside, a Taiwanese industrial research organization, held a seminar on “LED Market Trends and Innovative Applications” yesterday, inviting representatives of domestic government officials to discuss with the LED industry.

Qi Jun said that China has promoted ten cities this year, but the pace of urban installation is not as fast as expected. Some cities only install hundreds or thousands of miles. This is mainly due to the fact that LED standards have not yet been formulated and local governments have insufficient financial resources. However, Jun Jun pointed out that Chinese officials will continue to maintain a positive attitude toward LED policies next year, such as assisting local governments in setting up LED street lights and incorporating LED lighting into the subsidy projects of the NDRC.

In addition, Jing Bing Chairman Li Bingjie also pointed out that optimistic about the global LED lighting take-off in 2012, and as long as the LED lighting penetration rate increased by 2% to 3% per year, will be able to maintain strong market demand growth. Li Bingjie pointed out that LED lighting is 50 times the current production capacity, optimistic about the future growth of the LED industry, will not be oversupply.
