ASUS 22.7 million motherboard sits firmly in the boss

After the global sales conference was held, Asustek announced the global operating plan for 2011 again and established the shipment target for the mainboard, notebook, and Eee PC netbook.

Asustek plans to generate at least 380 billion Taiwan dollars in global revenue in 2011 (even close to 400 billion Taiwan dollars), equivalent to nearly 85 billion yuan, 12.7 billion US dollars, compared with 720 billion Taiwan dollars this year, an increase of 19%, while the motherboard is expected to ship 22.7 million Shipments of 14 million pieces of notebooks and laptops, and 6 million copies of Eee PC netbooks were up by 5.1%, 28.4%, and 11.1% compared with 21.6 million, 10.9 million, and 5.4 million this year.

In fact, Asustek had planned to ship 25 million motherboards in the beginning of this year, but it eventually reduced by as much as 13.6%. However, ASUS President Shen Zhenlai said that because the average selling price remained stable, the actual gross profit margin actually increased.

ASUS believes that Asustek can ship at least 14 million notebooks in 2011 with its clear product line market positioning and active entry into the corporate market, and its internal target is as high as 19 million, making it the world’s third-largest notebook maker.

On Eee PC, despite the weakening demand for netbooks, ASUS is still optimistic about the prospects of the series, but the average price will drop significantly, which means consumers can buy cheaper netbooks.

In addition, Asustek also plans to completely shake off its stake in Pegatron in 2011 and complete the split.

Related news: Gigabyte also held a similar sales conference and plans to ship 20 million motherboards in 2011, followed by Asustek, an increase of 8.1%. In 2010, Gigabyte shipped 18.5 million motherboards and 350,000 notebooks. Gigabyte also plans to let go of its stake in ASMedia, a subsidiary of Asustek, which is actively promoting its own USB 3.0 controller chip.
