Mobile base station power supply solution

First, mobile communication requirements for power equipment

With the large-scale development of mobile communication construction, the importance of mobile communication power is also increasingly significant. Wireless base station equipment has its universality and specificity for power supply requirements. Universal performance requires the power system to be reliable, stable, small, and highly efficient, and has special requirements in terms of system capacity, intelligence, protection system, and monitoring networking. The users facing the wireless base station are directly ordinary consumers. The base station equipment works normally or not, and the quality of service provided is rapidly reflected and spread among users for the first time. The impact on operators is enormous. As a "pump"--base station power system that provides powerful power for the normal operation of the entire base station system, its stability and reliability are of vital importance.

Second, ZTE mobile base station power characteristics

ZXDU90E, ZXDU90C, ZXDU180, ZXDU300, ZXDU300E, ZXDU600E, ZXDU400, and ZXDU600 are the supporting power supply systems designed by ZTE specifically for the power supply of wireless base stations. They have intelligent three remote control, battery charge and discharge management, and battery temperature compensation and alarm recording. Inquiries and BP machine system alarm paging and other functions, in full compliance with the actual needs of wireless base stations unattended.

The base station power supply series developed by ZTE for the special station environment and requirements of base stations have the following technical features:

1. Small capacity Since the wireless base station has the characteristics of cell splitting and frequency reuse, the power supply required by the base station equipment generally does not exceed 300A. The typical base station power supply capacity is 150A. In view of capacity expansion, 180A~600A systems are generally used. ZTE's well-designed 30A series communication power supplies for base stations are economical and full-featured. The 50A series is of excellent quality. The default mode of power distribution is the upper cabling method commonly used by the base station, and can be flexibly configured according to user requirements.

2. Perfect protection system The location of mobile base stations is relatively complex. In China, the topography and landscape are ever-changing. Both urban and rural areas and mountains and plains may become stop-stations for base stations. In particular, it was proposed in the 1999 National Mobile Construction Strategic Goal that the digital mobile phone network should cover all prefectures and 96% of counties (cities) and basically cover all highways throughout the country. The diversity of base station environments imposes stricter requirements on the protection system of the power supply. In particular, many base stations are built on the top of a mountain and there are dangers of lightning. Most of them are imported from the input end of the power supply. Therefore, the requirements for the lightning protection system are higher. In other areas. In addition, the base station power supply also has its special requirements in terms of adaptability to the fluctuations of the grid and electromagnetic interference. To this end, ZTE has designed perfect three-level lightning protection measures to effectively eliminate the adverse effects of lightning strikes and large surges. The wide range of AC output has greatly enhanced the adaptability of the grid. And for the secondary power-off protection designed by the wireless base station, the load can be cut off hierarchically. In the event of a power outage, the power can be effectively used to supply power to the load, and the battery is also effectively protected.

3. Intelligent mobile base stations are widely distributed, and the topography of the area is complex. Therefore, the degree of intelligence of the power supply equipment, unattended operation, and the requirement of "three remote functions" are relatively high. ZTE power system with intelligent communication interface RS232 and RS485 can realize local centralized monitoring and three remote functions. By combining the power supply control technology and computer technology organically, together with the monitoring system can realize unattended.

4. Flexible monitoring and networking methods Many mobile base stations have few or no conditions for using the PSTN network for monitoring and networking, and thus cannot use the dial-up mode for remote monitoring and networking. However, for the particularity of the wireless base station, it is required to provide a flexible and diverse networking mode suitable for remote monitoring of the power supply of the base station. This can not only solve the problem of lack of PSTN network resources, but also make good use of the existing microwave resources of the base station. The mobile base station networking method based on the SCM signal conversion module is designed specifically for mobile base stations by ZTE and is a smart device for centralized monitoring of wireless base stations. It can use the existing point-to-point data service channel for networking, which is very suitable for centralized monitoring of base station power environment. At each site, the basic function of the SCM is to centralize and decentralize the information between one primary serial port and five secondary serial ports. In addition, it also supports a simple environmental monitoring: 4 analog inputs and multiple digital inputs and outputs. The SCM comes with a CPU. The CPU receives a complete packet from the main serial port and analyzes it. Based on the address information contained in the packet (ie, the station number and the device number), the SCM sends the received message to the specified slave serial port. Receives data from each serial port and stores it in a buffer. When the main serial port is free, the information sent from the serial port is sent through the main serial port. ZTE power supplies are equipped with an RS232 serial port, and the serial port is connected to a serial port of the SCM, so that centralized monitoring of the ZTE power supply can be realized through the SCM.

In addition, ZTE's power supply also features modular design, easy expansion, easy installation, and easy maintenance.

Third, ZTE mobile base station power supply application examples

1. Sichuan Xichang

The network has installed a total of 21 ZXDU base station power supplies, including 14 ZXDU300-24 (24V/250A), 6 ZXDU600-24 (24V/400A) and 1 ZXDU1500 (48V/1000A) combined power supply. The monitoring network mode is MODEM. It can also be networked through dedicated lines or through the ZXJ10, ZXA10, and ZXSM monitoring network management systems. This network uses the MODEM mode networking. As shown in Figure 1.

2. Jiangsu Taizhou Unicom

In 1998, the ZTE ZXDU300 power supply was the supporting power source for the second phase of the GSM project in Jiangsu Yancheng, Lianyungang and Taizhou and the first phase of the expansion project for Fuzhou GSM, with a total capacity of 55 units. This year, ZTE and Jiangsu Unicom signed a contract for 155 power supply systems in the phase III capacity expansion project. as shown in picture 2.

The network has installed 15 sets of ZXDU300 combined power system and 1 set of power monitoring system, and the transmission mode is optical digital service channel mode. In this network, the SCM signal conversion module independently developed by ZTE is used to connect point-to-point digital service channels provided by optical fiber transmission equipment into a network for centralized monitoring of the power supply, environment and other equipment of the base station. The SCM enters the digital service channel through the RS422 interface and is then transmitted to the monitoring center by the digital service channel. EMU is an environmental monitoring module that is used to monitor environmental parameters. The operating temperature of the environmental monitoring module EMU is 0 degrees to 45 degrees. All the sensors that monitor the environmental parameters are powered by the environmental monitoring module, so the anti-interference performance is good. 1 environmental monitoring module can be connected with 3 temperature sensors, 1 humidity sensor, 2 infrared detectors, 2 smoke sensors, 1 flood sensor and 2 glass break sensors, in addition to analog sensors (temperature and humidity sensors) In addition, other switch sensors can connect multiple sensors to the EMU in parallel. The EMU's own CPU is responsible for processing the collected environmental data and connecting it with the serial port of the SCM through the RS232 serial port.
